And The Winner Is ...

Neckbone!                                                                                                                        My Wooden Toys

Thank you, everyone who entered the dream contest. I never said how it was to be judged because I wasn't sure. Luckily I received this e-mail message in the nick of time:

Anyone who dreams that there are 25 ways of looking at a spaceship wins hands down. Plus the elephants diving gracefully off a cliff -- hands down dream winner.

Thank you, Aggles. And Neckbone, Congratulations. Your official Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day sleeping mask will go out in the mail tomorrow. Neckbone, have you ever considered writing a poem entitled 25 Ways of Looking at a Spaceship?

I remember going into work the next day and trying to draw 25 ways to look at a spaceship. Only I couldn't come up with 25 ways when I was conscious. I can't draw spaceships any better than I can draw elephants, either.

Last night I had a great dream. I was telling someone that I thought a young couple I had been around were not good at conveying enthusiasm to their children. They were good with facts, but not how they felt about something. I had watched them as a really exotic bird flew to a tree near them, and the parents started explaining all about the bird, the textbook facts. I was sharing this experience with the mother of one of the adults and I told her that they never said, "Hey look at that neat bird." I have no idea why I dreamed this and it's not how I feel about the people in the dream at all. But it is how I feel parents should relate to kids...with enthusiasm. Corny enthusiasm.

Thanks for the nightshades. They'll be great for my big train trip!

Too bad dreams can't be netflixed. I'd pay to dream like neckbone.

Neckbone, after experiencing a big win like this, you may be walking around in a daze for quite some time. Be careful; don't run into anything, and when you receive your mask, don't wear it while driving.

About your dream above: no wonder you are such a good parent.

Namowal: Wouldn't it be great if we could see other people's dreams? Did you ever see this old movie by Wim Wenders called Until the End of the World? It's about that, and GREAT SOUNDTRACK TOO.
